About the Fair

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS OF THE FEBRUARY 2020 FAIR! If you were chosen to go on to the state level, you will receive an email once your online materials have been "promoted". At that point, you will log onto the STATE-LEVEL StemWizard site and register for the state competition. That website is https://ncsef.stemwizard.com/ We will announce the dates for the February 2021 WCU Region 8 Western Regional fair some time in late summer or early fall - please check back then to enter. PLEASE CONTACT THE FAIR DIRECTOR IF YOU DON'T FIND THE INFORMATION YOU NEED HERE. *****VENDORS/EXHIBITORS: Please sign up under "Registration" and then choose the "Volunteer" option at the upper right of your screen. *****Welcome - we hope you can attend the Region 8 Science & Engineering Fair! Our fair is held annually at the campus of Western Carolina University in the Ramsey Regional Activity Center. Students (grades 3 – 12) from the westernmost counties in North Carolina compete, and the winners move on to the state NCSEF (North Carolina Science & Engineering Fair) competition. *****Fair Director: Kelley H. Unless the university itself is closed (which is highly unlikely), the fair will be held as scheduled with set up time from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day. Transportation to and from the fair is the responsibility of the students and/or parents. Teachers or parents may bring and set up projects during the check-in time, but students must be present during the judging starting at 10:15 a.m. *****
