The following are dates for this year's WCU Region 8 Science & Engineering Fair. Due to COVID, the fair is being held completely online (at the regional, state, and ISEF levels). Dates for the fair are: Deadline for submitted student materials: Wed, February 3, 2021; Live interviews of students by the judges will be conducted during one of the following judging time slots: Wednesday, February 17, 2021 between 9 - 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 between 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 between 9-11 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 between 12:30 - 2:30 p.m PLEASE CONTACT THE FAIR DIRECTOR IF YOU DON'T FIND THE INFORMATION YOU NEED HERE. *****JUDGES: Please sign up under "Registration" and then choose the "Judge" option at the upper right of your screen. *****VENDORS/EXHIBITORS: Please sign up under "Registration" and then choose the "Volunteer" option at the upper right of your screen. *****Welcome - we hope you can attend the Region 8 Science & Engineering Fair! Our fair is normally held annually at the campus of Western Carolina University in the Ramsey Regional Activity Center. Students (grades 3 – 12) from the westernmost counties in North Carolina compete, and the winners move on to the state NCSEF (North Carolina Science & Engineering Fair) competition. *****Fair Director: Kelley H. Unless the university itself is closed (which is highly unlikely), the fair will be held as scheduled with set up time from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day. Transportation to and from the fair is the responsibility of the students and/or parents. Teachers or parents may bring and set up projects during the check-in time, but students must be present during the judging starting at 10:15 a.m. *****
